Re: 5Dsr - initial thoughts
Thanks Tony, never thought to look on youtube. I guess if I'm honest, I'm not quite in the range of knowing my subject well enough to fill the frame, as he says. I also find there's often physical obstructions that stop me getting as close I'd like and on holidays you don't have time to learn a subject well enough to get that close, 7D is looking a whole lot more likely with maybe a big fixed focus lens to compliment the telephoto.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Re: 5Dsr - initial thoughts
having seen the images some members have got with the 7D MkII I would say thats a much better option than the 5Ds - I wouldn't really class it as a wildlife camera - more so studio / landscape work:- Ian
5D Mk III, 24-105 / 70-200 f2.8 L / 100-400 Mk II / 100 macro / 16-35 L / 11-24 L / 1.4 & 2x converters and a bad back carrying it all ;o)

I intend to wander into the Jessops shop in Aberdeen for a look at the 7Dmk2, does anyone use an extender with this body with the 100-400, what's your opinion?Last edited by tigerburnie; 07-09-2015, 08:43.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Here's a 100% crop from a 5DS image, taken with 135mm F2L lens

Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography- George Eastman
