    Boxing for charity

All new for me - indoors / dark / people . . . . what could possibly go wrong lol.

Cory was asked to shoot a charity 'white collar' boxing event by her boxfit studio and she asked if I would help out as second shooter.

1DX, 70-200 2.8 mkII handheld and no flash permitted.

#4 Roz and Tanya were awesome, especially when you consider Roz only started 4 months ago (red top) very impressed

Not sure what I think of my efforts on the whole - if anyone would care to take a look through the gallery and are able to offer any helpful critique's I would be most grateful

You've done a great job David

Think the higher viewpoint you took has worked for the best.
I did boxing once and shooting from canvas hight was a nightmare, 1 the ropes got in the way as you can't stick your lens through them, 2 having to look upwards made it tricky shooting into spotlights,3 not sure about your night but the ref was always in the way when things got exciting

So as I've said i think you've done great.

You have captured some great action shots David, can't work out if the guy in image 3 should have dodged when he weaved, or weaved when he should have dodged...

ISO 3200 , wow it must have been very dark in there. Not bad at all David!

The light is poor for photography in (amateur boxing) its the only time i wish i had a f1.8/1.4 lens as f2.8 was still a struggle trying to freeze the action when i had a go at this sport.
Though cory has captured a great shot in the first of her images and used the low light conditions well
