    Swapping a sky in PS

I'm looking at trying to process some recent photos but the weather was really bad with grey flat sky - I've done some swapping of skies before using the blending method but I wondered what other use.

I know with PS theres a million and one ways to do the same thing so I'm just looking for options as I think the photo could be good, but with a grey sky my only option right now is B&W and I don't want that

If anyone has any tips or links to videos that would be great

I've swapped a few skies over time Ian and usually try a different method each time. What that means is that I usually fumble my way through it till I think ' yeh I can get away with that'. Pretty typical of my processing methods if I'm honest

So to recap, I can't recommend anything lol

      LOL...

I've just tried the blending option and its come out well - taken me 30 mins to short it but I think the photo is worth it - only problem I've got another 5 more from the same location that need the same treatment - time to jump onto another image that doesn't need so much TLC :)

Do you use skies form your own images or ones you have acquired on line? I find that it's important to match the resolution and IQ of the sky to match that of your final image

I use mine, in fact in this case the sky was from the same day, but after driving for 2 hours into the Pyrenees to find the location I was greeted with grey yuck!!

AND to make it even worse the planned visit I had arranged to get inside had been cancelled due to damage inside the building....needless to say I had a big sulk on
