    Tour de Yorkshire Stage 3

It has been a miserable damp and cold day today so my sympathies are with the riders. I walked out from home to the official start of today's stage to see what if anything I could capture. it was a bit windy and wet but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

#1 Approaching the 0Km official Stage 3 start line.

#2 Approximately two and a half hours later here are the leaders 96 Km in to the stage . There was a bitterly cold wind blowing right to left across the road as you can see by the way the flag is at the right top of the image. Not particularly good weather with some rain showers as the riders were approaching the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge. I have to say I was glad to get back in the car to get warm.

#3 The pack chasing the leaders, there's not much room between each of the riders. I think the two riders (same team colours) at the front right of the pack are in a similar position in the first image.

#4 A couple of stragglers who didn't have a support car to tuck in behind, unlike a couple of riders that passed just before these two.

Good set, tells a story well.
The last one stands out to me.

Well done for getting a good set, as you said the weather unfortunately did look poor.

Well done for braving the weather I must say. You captured some good shots in terrible light.

Good to see that the 'cheater' in the red Merc didn't finish high up

                    Tour de Yorkshire Stage 3

Thanks everyone I felt sorry for the riders as the images I posted (apart from the first one) were taken around the half way mark they had just climbed up one of the summits where I was and it was a very cold wind. I wouldn't have liked to have to cycle from there to Scarborough. I was surprised at how many spectators had made the effort to get up on to Blakey Ridge given that it was such poor weather.
