        cheers guys

The staircase is mainly red and the carpet blue, which looks good in colour but by converting to mono and lightning the reds and darkening the blues it looked much better

            Very nice

Not suggesting you need to do this but cropping out the right hand side it becomes very abstract and the viewer hard pressed to tell what this would be a picture of.

            Cheers,
            John

You did a great job there....a super abstract image from an unattractive piece of architecture.

The second cropped version works better for me. It has its own framing now.

Always on the lookout for a shot hey Stan lol. I often stay in these places with work, I shall pack the camera next time

but mind you don't get locked out of the room

I did the shots on Monday morning before we left, while Dee was in the shower, so took the key card with me. Came back, put the card in the door and it wouldn't open - thought I was losing it and had got the wrong door. Tried a few more times, knocked again but of course she couldn't hear me, still not convinced I had the right room then went down to reception and said "this may sound silly but could you confirm which room I am staying in". It was the right room but the key card needed re chipping
