    Re: Thinktank Streetwalker Pro backpack

Sometimes I take everything if I'm not walking too far, say a couple of miles, bird reserves/cliffs. I'll even add my tripod on occasion.

Actually when I have a camera plus lens on my Cottoncarrier some of the weight is at the front anyway and the weight is a bit more evenly distributed.

Quite often carry the bag minus Sigma on long walks, doesn't seem a problem to me. Generally though if on photo trip somewhere part of the kit will be left at place I'm staying. For example when out at stupid o'clock to shoot a sunrise the Sigma isn't going to get much use.

As Ian says it often happens the lens you want is not with you!

Saw this quite a few times when I was on the Farne Islands. Think I could book a cemetery slot if I suggested to my better half.

I too like to have everything with me, that way I can pick up my bag and know that it's all in there.

Well I took the plunge and ordered the backpack and the tripod (from Bo's post). Should all arrive in the next few days, fingers crossed as I need it for Thursday!!

Is she Japanese? Is he nuts? Takes all sorts I guess.

Well it seems as if The Dedicated Ones go out with everything to hand. I just have maybe a spare lens but as of next week I too will have a travel tripod - in the end I went for the MeFoto.

Alan- you'll be all kitted out. Where are you going?

I really will Bo. It seems that I've been a reasonably good boy for almost 50 years. So as a treat my better half has surprised me with a weekend in Monaco to see the Grand Prix!!! Staying just outside in Nice. Surely plenty of photo opportunities? And yes my face is smug :-)

I have the LoPro fast pack 200....but prefer the Domke F2 as its top opening and you can get at everything without taking it off your shoulder. Doesn't offer much bump protection but it's light (until I put all my kit in -which does all fit)
