Re: Rock, Water, Island, Mountains, Skye
Good use of the rocks, nice.
You are looking towards the Strathaird peninsula (Elgol is at the end of it but on the further side) with the Cuillin beyond.
Tarskavaig is back up the road roughly a mile away to the left at right angles to the direction we are looking.Last edited by Skyelines; 28-05-2016, 19:00.

Re: Rock, Water, Island, Mountains, Skye
Lovely composition of a great scene that isn't diminished one bit by the low tide
Disappointingly I didn't get to Skye (or much else on the west coast) this time but I hope to return next year with a 'big' camera and more time. That probably means bringing the car though!
Cheers,
John

Thanks for the information Skyelines
I do now remember stopping above the houses at Tarskavaig near to a cattle grid. When I looked at an online map I mistakenly thought that settlement and this bay all shared the same name.Peter

Should have mentioned before - this little bay is called Ob Gauscavaig.
Thanks for the information regarding the name of the bay, I'm glad you liked these two images.

The arch is part of the ruins of Dunscaith castle, lots of info.

Re: Rock, Water, Island, Mountains, Skye
Personally I think there is too much foreground in the fits shot. I'd crop the bottom and have a pano. The long horizontal outcrop works well with this and the pool becomes almost a mini loch. The second shot is imho much better for foreground interest.TS-E17 F4L, 70-300L, 100 F2.8L Macro. http://www.flickr.com/photos/waynelsworth/
