        Re: smoke trails

First is one of the classic arrows compositions and jams composition is good too but like you with the spit there is no prop blur due to the high shutter speed. Irrespective of the weather the only way to shoot prop aircraft is with a slow shutter

Love them both, but agree on prop blur. Of what I`ve been told of the Red Arrows, that shot of yours, they are pulling some Gs.

thanks for the comments ,my favoured spot for this air show is on top of a sand dune ,giving with the drop of the beach a elevated shooting position seems to work well every year anyway

                    Re: smoke trails

Wondered how many red arrows there are. I ask because they over flew us on the move from Rhyl to the Scilly Is. I had just climbed down a ladder whilst trimming a large conifer hedge. Thank goodness I did the flew over at about 500ft and I would have surly fell off. We counted 11 aircraft in formation with one standing off from the rest in two arrow formations. A thrilling site and also what a sound. Thunder in our Welsh Valley. Brilliant

                        Hi Jeff,

Lovely pictures. I'm not a huge fan of square picture - I think your pictures would look even better in 2x3 ration picture. You may have to alter the angle of the aircraft, more so the second picture, to fill the picture, but it give the aircraft more room to 'fly' into.

Treff, I think you may have over counted - I've seen pictures taken from Cad East (Mach Loop) and they show 10 Hawks flying through.

                        Cheers,
                        Neil

They display 9 but have a spare in case one goes tech, the 11th could well just be a camera ship up to get some airborne shots.
