    Street with new 50mmf1.2L

I went to Birmingham Jessops to collect my new 50mm f1.2L today....and went hunting for some street shots...its a lovely lens to use and really not as outlandishly big as I'd expected....I'd be interested in any comments.
ill post some comparisons of the f1.2L and 1.4USM....as I still have both at present

It certainly looks a great piece of glass Brian. As you said, the coffee shop shot is excellent

Thanks Alan....I'd normally convert to mono but the light was so good it would be a shame to lose the colours.

Thats a good set of images.
I've never been brave enough to give street photography too much of a go, maybe one day I'll face that demon!

I must admit I'm very uncomfortable with pictures like these. Frankly, If I discovered that someone was photographing me secretly without my permission, they'd get a mouthful - and I'm normally a pretty tolerant person. It seems too intrusive, and rather inconsiderate. Where do you draw the line ..........?

Thanks both....I'm finding that people generally don't seem to be bothered at all...yesterday in Birmingham most knew I was taking photos...i was not hiding anywhere ....I just stood in the middle of the park and shot away. Thanks for your comments...I'd recommend giving it a go -I'm not keen on images where the tog has purposefully obscured himself, that is a bit creepy.

I missed these first time round so sorry, but you've done really well and clearly have a good eye .. The Coffee shot is excellent, but I think it would be even better in B&W

These are great, I think the B&W is = with the colour version myself. My favourite one is the 2nd to last, love the contrast in stance of the two women, one slouched and relaxed the other tall, elegant and poised, striking image

Very sharp indeed  My favourites are the colour Grand Central and the two girls that immediately follows it as these have good composition plus excellent bokeh.

                          Cheers,

Lovely sharp images, Brian, and you are a braver man than me. And being clearly out in the open and in a public area you have given anyone who had a problem to indicate such.
My favourite is also the juice bar, in colour.

Thanks very much for the feedback....really appreciated...I did some portraits for a chap today....used this lens throughout I'm really pleased with the sharpness ....providing focus is good they are ready to go straight out of the camera.
