    Hornets

    spotted on the BWC nature reserve, there were a couple of dozen close together and chewing wood and bark, meaning the nest wasn't too far away. They were constantly on the move so all shot in AI servo mode, which is not that easy with macro. Shutter speeds between 1/125 - 1/200, f8, ISO 1600, 100mm

    With the second shot I could not quite get a position parallel to the insect so the tail is not in the plane of focus but have included it as quite an interesting pose
