    Hippopotamus



    Another image from South Africa. Taken on Lake St. Lucia not long after sunrise from the deck of a pontoon boat. It's a fairly common shot of a hippo but the first time I've been lucky enough to photograph it. I was quite pleased with the outcome.

    EOS 1DX, 300mm f2.8 L IS II lens, 1.4 III converter hand held.

    Maybe common , but it`s still a powerful image and very sharp , I like the hairs / whiskers across the top of his nose .

                      You may say it is a 'common shot' but you have still caught it beautifully with great detail, colour and timing.
