    Margaret Preece- Soprano (Went End)

Recently Margaret Preece (Sound of Music & Phantom of the Opera) appeared at the North Wales International Music Festival performing pieces inspired by Rodgers & Hammerstein. I was able to take these pictures with the 760D + 55-250m lens, manual mode, auto WB,auto ISO, TV 100 AV f4-f5.

1st 2 are sharp, the third is a bit soft. Also the seems to be an off color on the skin tone.

Thanks Tom for your positive comments as always. I will look into these once again. Can always sort out skin tones. I forgot to mention that Magaret Preece appeared as the Mother Superior in the Sir Andrew Lloyed 's Sound of Music production.

A bit better, though think still need a tweak. The sheet music might be a good starting point.

Thanks Ant. Yes, thats a good point which I somehow forgot- my memory is playing a bit of a doh! doh! these days. I always find that the stage lighting is never in favour of photographers!!!!!!! esp Amateurs like myself.

Nice set Nat with the second set having better WB.
Any reason you used the 760D over the 6D?

I wasn't quite sure whether I'd be allowed to take photos and because of the Ify situation I did not wish to take the larger & heavier 6D. In short it was easy to conceal the 760D and the 55-250mm lens!!!!

Are you saying that you have taken and published these photographs without the permission of the venue or the artists?

When I took the pics I wasn't sure but I have since got full permission and also a signed copy of the artists CD- she has written it personally to me.I don't see any problem in that. I also have carte blanc full permission ALWAYS to take pictures in the venue, which is my Cathedral church where I always take photographs without any restrictions. Furthermore there was no ban on still photographs and quite a lot of the audience were taking pictures with their camera phones and Compact cameras. I might add that I am a steward as well for the music festival. I am quite happy that I have not infringed any rules.

P.S:- I am aware that some members in the audience have published their photos on Social media sites- facebook & Twitter.

That's fine. Your earlier post suggested that you had taken the images with a concealed camera and possibly without permission. I'm sure that you appreciate that I have to check on these things to avoid any problems for the forum.

I am aware of the rules Robert and it was only because I was in the clear that I posted these pictures so that members could see the artist- someone whom they may have heard about when they saw the Sound of Music and or the Phantom of the Opera in the West End Theatres. As a Steward & official at this music festival which is held every year in Sept,I am always in close contact with the artists whenever they appear at the cathedral.
