I will take a longer look at the extensive site when I can as it looks to have a lot of potential

It certainly looks an interesting place Jeff - what an intriguingly shaped tower for an Abbey! (but perhaps that's Normal For Norfolk )

It's actually the gatehouse for the Abbey and as far as I know a combined windpump for drainage of the river water.

Don't quote me on that though as I only took a quick glance at the information board what was by my boat when I parked up to take a look

Like the composition of the 1st image, the 2nd seems a bit tight for that image

I agree, someone had decided to put a fence in the way and I couldn't get back any further.
Didn't help that I only had the 70-200 lens to hand as that is all I packed along with the teleconvertor

Going to definitely pay the site another visit .
It's crying out for some B&W stuff, especially when there's some interest in the sky .

Is very helpful being able to moor the boat up right alongside as well

the point of view of the second shot with the composition of the first would work better, ie the second is the more interesting but it is much too tight top and bottom of the frame

Is that St Benet as in Bill and Ben? Looks like someone has turned his flower pot upside down! Fantastic architecture. Interesting shots!
