Re: FD 300mm f/2.8L
I had the later version and I was convinced it was Canon's sharpest lens. It was also the fastest to focus - from blur to sharp in an instant.

Re: FD 300mm f/2.8L
It’s remarkable Colin. It looks like it’s only been used a few times. There’s not even any paint loss! As for image quality, wide open it’s stunning, super sharp, no CA and lots of contrast. That huge fluorite element and UD element do their job. As far as I’m aware the first EF version has the same optical formula and judging by the image quality they didn’t need to change it.
The FD to EF-M adapter works perfectly. As I’m looking to go full frame mirrorless in the near future it’s going to get plenty of use.

That looks to be in stunning condition.
I have never used an FD with an EF adapter, but I am advised they work well together.

FD 300mm f/2.8L
Every now and then a gem appears on eBay that you just have to try and get. Mint condition FD 300mm f/2.8L with hood, leather lens cap and case. £550!!! Unbelievable! It’s rare I get very excited about a purchase, but I was with this one. My M5 looks a bit lost stuck on the back of it!
