    AUT_4303.JPG PROBLEM OPENING!!

    Have quite a few pics on a CD that I took 2001/2 on site at Chatham Dockyard.
    Have no idea why they are showing "AUT" - taken on Canon 300 or 350D.
    Have tried renaming, jpg - bitmap - gif etc but nothing - any ideas please appreciated.

    I have no idea either, but have you tried copying the files to your PC and then seeing if they'll open?

      File extension: AUT
      File type: Authentication File

      You need to identify which prog can open these files.
      What did you use 11 years ago?
      Was it a Interactive Pictures iPIX Format file, iPIX Viewer, Netscape plugin, Quicktime plugin ?

      Sorry but my searches have limited results.
      Canon EOS R6 Mark II, Canon RF 100-500mm f4.5-7.1L, Canon RF 24-105mm f4L
      Please note: I do not have or use Photoshop

        Is it not the smal jpeg that is used to preview on the camera screen? It still needs the large file to display.
