    newthread.php

Attempts at previewing or posting images (I use Flickr) are being greeted with a save/open box for file: newthread.php.

I searched the forum and see this does occasionally happen and that patience may reward me. I'm not a particularly patient person

Any thoughts on what this is please? Is it the dreaded '503' error I read about (but have never experienced)?

    Cheers,
    John

John I sometimes see this, quite why it happens could be difficult to identify. When I see it I just give up 😚 sad really but that's life as they say!

      Re: newthread.php

I have had a similar problem this afternoon in posting a new thread with 3 pictures - it previewed OK but then I decided to add another shot and preview again and got the php

Should have been satisfied with just posting the 3 original pictures

update - just logged out, closed the tab and reopened and logged in again and was able to start the new thread OK

Might just be coincidence but worth trying

It would do no harm to flush your browser cache either

Logged out/logged in/cleared cache but still not working. Time for bed I think (I was up early this morning taking photographs!)

                  Re: newthread.php

seems to have cleared by itself now ,perhaps a outside influence was trying to access the server ???

Thought I'd have one last try before bed and it worked for me too

Happens with Photobucket as well... I've found that when it does occur, the only way around it, for me anyway, is to close my browser, clearing all cache, and then re-starting the browser. If I try & just log-off from the forum and log back on again, it still fails, as it does if I simply try to clear the cache without closing the browser (IE11)

Annoying, but it doesn't take a minute to clear the cache...
                      Cheers;

I wonder when maintenance is done on the server and where the server farm is actually located as time zone differences could be affecting server access.

I resorted to posting images via TapTalk in the end on Saturday due the PHP issue.
