Log-in puzzle

I've been a member of the forum since before 2009 and I've recently returned to it.

I have 2 Macs, a MacBook Pro and a Powermac G5. Sometimes I log-in to the forum on one and sometimes the other. My query is that I logged in to the forum on the PM G5 (which is running OS Leopard) and clicked the "keep me logged in" box and I've never had to log-in again on it. However, on the Macbook Pro (which is running OS Yosemite) although I tick the "keep me logged in" box, every time I go back to it I have to re-insert my user name and password.

It isn't a problem, more of a puzzle. Has anyone else encountered this?

if your browser is set to clear cookies on exit then you will have to log in again

Would you believe it - every time I've gone back to the forum I haven't had to log-in in again! A bit like the toothache stopping when you get to the dentist.
