Everyone else, once again many thanks for your entries and also to those that took the time to vote - please note that Robert may be in touch with some of you individually to ask you about your pictures etc as last year some made it into the magazine (i'm not saying that will be the case again this year as I have nothing to do with the magazine, other than I read it, but you never know).

Unfortunately due to work and personal commitments again, I'm likely to be disappearing for a while but I plan on blowing the dust off my camera bag soon and returning to it all - I do miss having some spare time.

I hope you have all enjoyed the competition again for another year and glad to have helped out with it. Many thanks for all the kinds comments in messages / PM / emails etc.

Arthur, well done, a truly stand-out (literally) image that is a worthy winner against some very stiff competition.

Firstly i would like to thank Andy for organising the 2015 challenge , we all knew he was extremely busy with work but still found the time to run the show, secondly a big thank you to all the forum members that voted for my winning image and the recent posts of congratulations, this was the third year that i have entered the challenge, but didn't expect to be the overall winner, my money was on either 'A Puffin Catch' or 'I've seen the Light' they were both outstanding images.

Congratulations Arthur for your “Ticking the Box” image. It proves to me that keeping things simple works very well. When I looked at the image, it just felt to me to be a very comfortable composition, with a trio of elements coming together to make the finished image.
The three things I see in it are the base (box) then the pencil thrust through it and just as importantly the diagonal shadow. What isn’t immediately obvious is the thought and setting up carried out by you the photographer to create that simple image which proved to be a worthwhile winner. Well done Arthur.
