    Displaying photos online

I am fairly new to this forum and only an amatuer photographer so I apologise if this has been asked before. I was thinking of putting some photos online and see Flickr is the widely used website however I use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe have thier own Adobe Portfolio website which intergrates well with lightroom and seems a reasonable option. Does anyone have experience of using it or views on its use. Also is it possible to download from there to this forum . Thanks Ian

Hi Ian and welcome to the forum. Most of us are amateur photographers and many, like me, use Lightroom. I can't comment on Adobe Portfolio and don't know of anyone who uses it. Most contributors to this forum use Flickr and it works very well. It's also free unless of course you intend to upload 100's of images.

I think the Adobe portfolio is to sell photos...as in a photo library.
I’ve think I’ve seen it advertised to prospective buyers saying that they can then edit the photos....could be mistaken....and maybe that feature can be turned off.
flickr has a max 1,000 upload limit unless you pay a subscription.
I use Flickr and Instagram...and Lightroom on line with backup

Correction...its Adobe Stock that is the selling library.

Adobe Portfolio is free to Lightroom users but I haven't used it yet, so don't know much about it.
For lightroom, It's definitely worth going on the lightroomqueen website and also Adobe tv website, where you can find tutorials on Lightroom portfolio.

Just out of interest.- Adobe portfolio looks quite good. I've just set up a simple site. Not sure how uploading works with LR at the moment and there is no facility to get a code to link the image to this forum.
Quickly and simply build a personalized website to showcase your creative work with Adobe Portfolio. Now included free with any Creative Cloud subscription.

That’s something I was thinking about recently as I don’t have a web site, it’s interesting to see what you’ve done. I’ll see if I can have another look at it.

I believe it's the way most members download to the forum. If you download direct from your pc or laptop the quality is impaired. Flickr also has other advantages in that you can join various groups on Flickr and receive feedback from other Flickr contributors, while also commenting on their images.
