    Duracell batteries

Wonder if anybody has tried these?

    Some interesting claims:

Duracell claims that you’ll get the same performance as original brand batteries.
Each battery is guaranteed ‘no memory effect’

Whatever your power needs, it will last longer with Duracell. Duracell camera and camcorder batteries deliver equivalent performance to the manufacturers original and are supplied with a 3 year limited warranty.

5D3 battery is £15 somewhat cheaper than OEM.

I've got two Duracell LP-E6 equivalents for my 7D.One will easily last me for 600+ shots with a bit of capacity to spare.I too use Duracell direct because as you rightly pointed out, they are much cheaper than OEM.

If I know its going to be a heavy-use day, airshows etc,I will attach the battery grip, using both batteries, but generally just have one in the camera with a fully charged spare in my bag.

Basically,I have had no problems with the Duracells up to now.

Thanks for response. Have a couple of batteries that will need replacing in the near future so will keep these in mind.

That is an amazing saving....and good to know they charge using the Canon charger

I note the Duracell capacity is slightly lower but not significantly......the duracell bunny would stop before the Canon one!

Thanks for that Ant, could do with a couple of new batteries and at that price would be rude not to.

I need a new battery for my 7D so may try one of these at £15

Are these "chipped" so the battery data shows in the camera menus?

Somehow I don't think so, can't imagine Canon catering for a third party battery. Is it a big issue, to me as long as the battery powered the camera that's all that would matter.

Duracell batteries show the data and shutter activations(shots taken) on my 7D. I've got two Duracells and neither have let me down, the same for the one I used in my old 550D.

Thank you, I was just making sure that the data such as remaining capacity and battery status showed in the menu :)

I think the LP-E6N for the 7d2 is a slightly higher capacity, but cannot be used in a 7D.
