    Macro Photography

    Two questions…….

    1. What AF mode should I use for macro photos?

Single Point AF or something else?

    2. Can anyone recommend a website to learn about macro photography?

    Thank you.

Personally I use either single point or manual focus depending on the application. The advantage of manual is that you can use the magnification function for critical focusing to ensure you get the part you want correctly focused.
With regards to articles, there have been some in the EOS mag but I do not know the issues concerned let alone page numbers, you could have a look through the back issues or perhaps Richard could help you by providing references.

If I'm hand holding the camera, I use single point but if the camera is on a tripod then it's manual focussing. Most of my butterfly/dragonfly/spider shots ae taken early morning when they are, hopefully, covered in dew and stationary, then it's manual focussing.

For a website, just go to youtube and search 'macro'. www.rosshoddinott.co.uk has a few macro tips as well.
