How Covid has effected my photographic output

I've recently been trawling through my images in Lightroom to collect thirteen to produce a calendar with.

Whilst doing this I noticed the drastic reduction in the number of image in this years folders. A lot of the reduction is down to the lack of holidays/travel we have had, mainly due to the restrictions brought about by the virus. There's only so many flowers/bugs I can make images of in the garden

Has anyone else notice this with their photography?

    Peter

Exactly, lack of travel is definitely a factor. Also finding it difficult to find motivation.

Yes Ive noticed the same...I usually travel a lot for my work anyway but Ive been on teams every day since April so my photo opportunities have nose dived....at least Ive kept working.

Retirement & living in the countryside has helped me, but I realise not everybody has these factors, my variety of shots has altered, but my camera has been a godsend to me.

Same here, very restricted travel and nowhere near the variety and quantity of pics I’ve had in the past.

Yes me too. Not just with lack of travel to new places but COVID has put a grey blanket over us all, not so motivated to take camera out with me.

Suffering like everyone else but especially as a lot of my images are for a local art centre which has been closed for 5 months and only now reopened but on a much reduced scale.
One thing I’ve noticed is that I haven’t planned any specific projects this year and photography has become more occasional and even dare I say random!

Just the same, mostly down to lack of opportunities. My shutter count from 23 Mar to 10 Oct in 2019 went up by 1668. The equivalent this year is 179, so reduction of 89%.
And like you, Peter, I think this year's calendar will have to include 'second best' images from previous years.

I too have had a lot less photos this year.

I usually photograph rail tours and local heritage railways most weekends. 75% of the rail tours have been cancelled and the heritage railway in my home town has not been running any trains.

For me, it has changed my focus as I'm not starting to collect and shoot with vintage cameras as well as doing my own processing of BW film.

I may be the odd one out on here. Without not seeming selfish we've not found the lock-down a great issue, living like we do in an isolated area. It's nothing for us not to see anyone for a week or two, other than perhaps the postman. I've perhaps not posted as many pictures over the past two months as normal, for no other reason than I've been involved in a major project at home and not been out quite as much, hence pictures being taken out the window. Nor owing to the restrictions been to the New Forest having had to cancel all bookings - hence no fortnightly cleaning ----- and no sneaking off to Bushy Park!!!
I do however feel for the many people who have seen their lives and activities put on hold - many on this Forum.
There has been a noticeable lack of activity on the Forum of late. This I think can be contributed to several factors, two 'Shut Downs' did not help. As mentioned above by members, a lack of motivation owing to Covid19, plus several members jumped ship and are posting on other forums - have my own opinion on that!

Being in the right place during these covid times helps, I reside on a small ranch surrounded by other ranches. My bird viewing has turned in to a daily walk where as before it was once a month. those stuck indoors are very limited to any kind of activities and I reall feel for them.
