    Just a quick hello

What with Covid and a few other things that have happened to me over the last 16-18 months I've found it hard to motivate myself to even get my camera out! I'm going to make an effort to rekindle my interest.

I'd also like to say well done to everyone who has kept going, there has been some excellent work posted on the forum. Hope to be contributing in the near future.

Hi Ant. Good to hear from you. I think all of us have found the going hard over the past ten months, with all the Covid restrictions that have been in place. The Hard Core of the Forum have kept the shutter buttons going and I agree there's been some excellent work posted.
I'm going to be finding it difficult over the next four weeks - got a project on the go that must be finished by early Spring.

Thankfully I’ve not been impacted too much apart from being at home most of the time....but the general situation has certainly affected me and loss of photo opportunities has made me lose my mojo....I’m also trying to rekindle now. Hope you are getting sorted now and looking forward to a more positive ongoing situation...let’s keep making the effort and keep posting....it’s part of our social support environment. Hope you have a good weekend.

Hi Ant. Good to hear from you. I think a lot of us have been de-motivated by this pandemic. I haven't been out with a camera since October. I used to think that photography was a hobby that you could pick up and put down at any time, but it's not the case. You have to keep your eye in and re-familiarising yourself with all the settings can be a headache. A good argument for keeping camera settings as simple as possible.

Good to have you back Ant, I for one have missed your shots. I have found the opposite, photography has kept me sane, I suppose living in the middle of nowhere has been an advantage for me, no holiday makers & few people out & about. Dust your camera down & reward us with some of your best.

Cheers everybody. Plan is to bust out my 60D to get back in to things. My original DSLR and as I'm out walking every day some landscapes are a good start. Hope to post something soon.

Welcome back from me too. Like everyone else I have found it tough going over the last months; it has been the Forum monthly challenge which has kept me going.
Once I’ve picked up my camera and taken the first couple of shots the buzz comes back - but I do forget the settings (it is an age thing for me.....).

I look forward to seeing your pics.

Got 60D ready last night. But here in the Pennines the cloud is down to our rooftops today!

                      Tomorrow is another day.

Well weather still not cooperating. Absolutely pouring down for todays walk. Hard enough to keep myself dry never mind a camera.

Nice to see you back Ant. To keep me motivated, I've moved back to film and playing with several film cameras. All my cameras are totally manual requiring the use of light meters or the sunny 16 rule.

Thanks Tom. How strange, I was looking at one of my very first 35mm cameras and pondering shooting some film. It's a Zenith E that I bought about 45 years ago. Still works, not a surprise as built like a tank and sounds like one when you press the shutter!

Any way decided to just go back to my 60D and as the weather today was good took it with me on our walk. Clear blue skies but not best for phtographs as a bit boring. Need to review what I took.
