    The Changing world

It's inevitable that things change, but sometimes they don't change for the better. I note that over the last few months, two more well known Photography magazines have ceased publication, Digital SLR Photography after 14 years and Practical Photographer after 61 years. While I accept that it is possible to get lots of tutorials and other photographic content on line, much of it is of poor quality or just plain incorrect. The advantage of magazines was that they were generally un biased and provided accurate information. I mourn their passing and wonder which magazines will be next.
I certainly hope that EOS magazine will survive the cull.

I echo your thoughts on the EOS Magazine -- a very informative and well produced magazine by a dedicated team.

Many years ago Amateur Photographer was my preferred read. After coming back to photography a few years ago I started reading few of the current crop of magazines. After few months some were repeating acrtices and others there was lots of advertising.
Soon gave up on them. Like Trev I've found EOS mag informative and good to read. Hoping it continues.

I tried a few magazine subscriptions over the last 10 years and each time I came to the same conclusion, that is they repeat content after about 9 months. I often felt that I was paying to be able to recycle them. EOS Magazine is the only one I've renewed.

I now look at other magazines online through my local library. I have an App called Libby and it gives me access to loads of magazines.

I do agree with the comments that magazines tend to repeat themselves. The problem is that they need to in order to appeal to the mass market. There were some very good up market magazines that were much more inspirational, they also disappeared. I really don't see much future for the remaining crop of magazines but I do sincerely hope that EOS magazine survives as it is both inspirational and full of good technical articles about taking good photographs. I do feel that the the demise of the other titles will result in many newcomers to photography being confused and ill informed. Hopefully some of them will find us and EOS magazine.
