    Post processing software

    Hi Canon friends,

I am curious what type of post processing software you use if any? I had used Lightroom and got a new Mac, the version of LR I have does not run on the new machine and Adobe is forcing me into a subscription plan. My volume of pictures I take does not warrant that (more on principal that cost I guess). I have looked around and found one named Luminar by Skylum that seems to hold promise but was curious if there were others?

    Sincerely
    Kevin

I bit the bullet last year and took the Lightroom/Photoshop package. Expensive I know, but compared with the cost of cameras and lenses probably worth it.

I currently use an old version of PS, however I am looking to change my PC so will use the Adobe PS subscription as my old version won’t be compatible.
although I do not take a large number of photos Adobe will enable me to indulge in digital art and it is software I’m use to using.

Mostly I use an old version of Photoshop but I also have a copy of Affinity by Serif which seems pretty good for the remarkably low price. One point to note about Affinity is that it is simply a photo-editor, there is no cataloguing function a la LR.

I use the photographers package of Adobe, gives me Photoshop, Lightroom and Bridge. I thinks its great value and gets better with every update.

You could try installing a version of OSX which will run your version of Photoshop on an external drive and boot the computer from that drive. You'd need to check which OSX will run with your new computer. I have 10.15 on my computer and 10.11 on my external drive running PS CS6.
