Just bought a Powershot G5X ii. Nice little thing and the (almost) perfect replacement travelling camera for my ancient G10.
I only shoot RAW so was a little disappointed to find that the CR3 files it creates (in common with, I believe, Canon's new R series cameras) are not compatible with my stand-alone version of Lightroom and that if I wanted Lightroom to accept them I'd have to move to their subscription service. Now, I'm not averse to spending money on my hobby but I've been happy with the LR I've used for most of my DSLR life and now only use it for the cataloguing (most processing is carried out in Luminar products) I really don't want to sign up to CC.
Fortunately, Adobe do provide the software to convert CR3 files to DNG which is what I'm having to use but it's just added yet another step to my already convoluted workflow.
Cheers,
John
