    Finally

Placed order for an R7 June 1st, just been to collect it today. Bit of a dampener is that I'm off on holiday in a couple of days so no time to get to know the camera. So another 3 weeks before I can play with it properly.

Now looking at suitable SD cards.

Well I had to check it worked so popped an old SD card in and Duracell eqiv battery. Mounted Sigma 150-600.

Camera isn't as small as I feared, I've got largish hands.

Not even looked at 'manual' so just flicked through menus, actually not too far removed from existing structure just quite a few more options as you might expect.

It's the AF performance that interests me most and I'm keen to see how it performs for bird photography.

I’ve seen it suggested that the. weather sealing on the R7 is not as good as the 7D II, which in itself was less robust than the 5div. Anyone have any views? I am considering replacing my 7D II with an R7, but since a lot of my photography is ‘all weather’ wildlife, this aspect concerns me.

There is an article on Weather Sealing in the October-December 2022 issue of EOS magazine, now available. It lists all EOS cameras, rating their weather sealing from None to Excellent.
