    Canon R7 Images

On some R7 user forums it was mentioned that Lightroom was doing a poor job of importing images and the DxO PureRAW 2 was much better.

Being the cynic that I am I didn't expect to see a massive difference. How wrong I was the software makes a massive difference.

This image was shot at ISO 2000 and the LR import looks rather messy

After applying the PureRaw there is a significant improvement

The difference full frame is not that apparent unless you click through to Flickr and enlarge so here are a couple of crops. Note the reduction in noise most noticeably in the grey areas top left and on the Nuthatch back. Also the increased detail, all over but notably in the sunflower shell.

Just trialing on a few other images at the moment and looks to be a constant improvement across all. I'll post some more examples later.

Might be interesting to test on some images from my 7D2.

Very interesting Ant but a bit alarmed concerning the LR problems, as you say will be interesting to see how DXO processes your 7D2 images.

Don't know if the LR issue relates to other cameras but never really had a particular problem editing 7D2 images.

          Project for another day.

Yes, I use LR & PS for all my editing from my 7D1 and never had a problem.
