    DXO PureRaw

    Still looking at this software.

Some more images. Whilst out on Wednesday deliberately took some high ISO images, easy as it was a bit overcast.

Some info the 'original' is just imported into LR, no editing and I could definitely improve it. But, it would take some time and I don't think it would be as the DXO version which is a couple of clicks and a few seconds of processing.

Took this image of a gadwall at ISO 12800

The improvement is once again massive, noise really managed well. The full frame images looks 'cleaner'. In the crops the beak in particular looks so much clearer.

Certainly a massive improvement, in fact quite staggering.

Must say I'm really impressed with DXO. In the past I'd seen adverts that showed dramatic improvements and was sceptical that they were real.

Still some further testing but starting to look like I'll purchase this software.

Anthony - would it be possible for you post a comparison between the image processed for noise in DXO alongside Lightroom's best effort at noise reduction?

Going to take a look at Topaz DeNoise (also has free trial) to see if it compares. Bit cheaper but personally cost isn't a factor if it works.
