    3rd Party Lenses

It is interesting to note that Fuji have recently enthusiastically endorsed their decision to allow 3rd party lenses as this has led to and overall increase in take up of the X system. Fuji X system now has 3rd party lens support from Sigma, Tamron, Samyang, Voigtlander, and TTartisan with more in the pipline.
I have decided to go no further with the R system as there is no prospect of 3rd party lenses. I have used 3rd party lenses for years often in preference to canon glass not just for reasons of price but because the lenses perform as well and in some cases better than Canon glass.
Anyone want to by a slightly used R6

The glass might be similar or even better, but for auto focussing on fast moving subjects like wildlife, the Canon L series are significantly faster.

I have to disagree as I have taken many bird in flight shots with my Sigma and have had as high a success rate as a friend who uses the Canon L lens. I have also shot car rallies with the same lens and had 90%+ success rate.
I shoot portraits a lot and the Sigma 50 mm art, and 105mm art are so sharp.
My comments are about choice. For everyday walking about I would use a 24-70 f2.8. The RF 24-70 f2.8 is £2,629 a Sigma 25-70 f2.8 Sony mount is £1,049. The performance difference is minimal and certainly doesn't justify the £1,600 price difference. I spend a lot of money on my photography but I do look at whether a particular product justifies it's price tag..

I'm incline to agree with Alan. Although I've no longer got any 3rd Party lens, a friend of mine who is Canon man uses Sigma lens exclusively from the 150-600 Sport down to WA's. He produces some stunning shots and I know he's very happy with the auto focus. His main subject of interest are motor cycle racing and wildlife.
