Theme for October - Trees & Leaves

October signals a change in season pretty much wherever you are in the world so there will be either autumn (fall) colours or new spring growth depending on where you live. So, anything you like to show this transition or any other aspect of theme that appeals to you.

You may interpret this brief as wide as you like consistent with the theme.

    The basics :
    • This is not a competition, it's purely for fun.
    • All photos should be your own and be taken within the month of the chosen theme.
    • You can post as many photos as you wish.
    • Comments on submitted photos are welcome.
    • Please include the exif details (these may be helpful to other members).
    • All entries to be shot with a Canon EOS camera i.e. SLR / DSLR / M & R series.
    • The chosen theme, should be as inclusive as possible.
I look forward to seeing your inspirational entries!

Lovely pics Nigel, thanks for getting the ball rolling! The last one is my favourite, like the sun through the leaves.

Here are my efforts, from a walk a couple of days ago. The first two are okay but I am not sure of the third one, I think it is too messy...
should I have cropped the photo perhaps? or zoomed in on a decayed leaf?

Great to see your pics Rose, as you say the first two show the autumn colours very nicely, good pics. I think the last is a consequence of having a large depth of field caused by using F18, I think that perhaps one nearer F4 would have given a shallower DoF therefore making the background more out of focus to better highlight the leaves, getting a bit closer (if possible) would also have helped. Good to see nevertheless.

Thanks Ian for looking and your comments - must admit I forgot to check the DoF / F number!! Oops.

I like your leaf and the sun shining through, much better than my leaf change.

The first is in my local Country Park. Land set aside adjacent to a(nother) large housing development here in North Hampshire. The dead willow on Titchwell Marsh, Norfolk (an RSPB reserve).
