Each year we put up a fat ball feeder filled with fleece for the small birds to take for nest lining.

This year SWMBO had some spare Alpaca - very soft - and it has proved extremely popular (this is the third filling of the feeder), particularly with the gold finches, who seem to be preparing nests for a second brood.

There must be some lovely bijou residences dotted about our local hedgerows!
