    Yippee.......

    ..... a felicitous discovery in the garden today!

    A tree has been growing next to our boundary wall, in amongst the brambles etc. for some years now.

    Last year and this, it has put great spurts of growth on and when I went to have a closer look at it today, I realised it is

    a walnut! Presumably there as the result of some squirrel burying his nuts.

      And the timber's worth a fortune -- last time I bought walnut for carving it was £120 a cubic foot, air dried
