If you remember I advised recently that member Guntackle is now in a nursing home. He has a view out of the window of some bird feeders and has an ambition to take some pics of the birds. However his 80D and 70-300 lense will be too heavy for him and inconvenient as he is largely bed bound. Mounting the camera on a tripod is not really an option as it will be in the way of the staff, they will have to set it up and there is a danger of it being damaged.
An option is to get a smaller lighter camera (EOS m50/M100? Plus adapter) that has similar exposure and focusing capabilities to the 80D but I think that his 70-300 will still be too heavy and unwieldy especially with a smaller camera.
He has asked me to have a look at what is about and what would be the best option for him.
He is perfectly happy to buy used gear to keep costs down assuming that it is in good condition and does what he wants
I know that some members have also had issues with the weight of gear and have looked at other makes and that is also a possible option here.
I would be very interested to hear of other members experiences with canon CSCs or thoughts on what other options it would be worth considering.
Many thanks
Ian
