I've driven through that a few times David, now I'm thinking, why didn't I make an image of it

A good capture, of a piece of history that makes me wonder about the original design and construction. Isn't there a plaque on it or somewhere near to it that commemorates the lives lost during the construction David ?

Well remembered, you are correct the plaques are on either side.

We used to visit there for a spot of fishing when Neil was a youngster (early 1980's), I think he only ever caught one Perch there though. It was probably about the same time that I bought him his first fly fishing outfit from a little shop (John Ross maybe) in Killin; which kindled his love of fly fishing and fly tying. Thanks for the memories David.

              Edit

I've been reliably informed the the tackle shop was on Main Street and called "Peter" Ross not John. Now how could I forget that name!. A certain fishing fly was named after him. The tackle shop is long gone but the Peter Ross fishing fly is still a known pattern.
