The Delaware Breakwater East End Lighthouse

Last weekend SWMBO and I headed to Delaware to photograph some lighthouses. This is the 2nd lighthouse we took on the trip.

Construction began in 1885 and a temporary light on a wooden frame was placed near the building site during the process. The foundation of the tower was embedded into the breakwater. The iron structure, which was listed at 56 feet (17 m) tall as of 1914, was completed on October 2, 1885.

camera was the EOS R with the EF 100-400L

Interesting structure Tom, your timing of the second image placing the kite surfer where you have works well.

Another two nice shots Tom, a more traditional looking lighthouse. Agree with Peter the kite surfer is in the right place at the right time.

I really like the second image Tom. It may have been even better 1/2 second later with the kite in the gap between the structures behind.
