    The light was not good, but no cars parked in the way so had to take it.

                The monochrome improves the poor light.

                It makes me wonder what are the best ways to improve photos taken in flat light conditions?

                  Converting to black & white in post-processing is always a good option.

                    Nice scene and conversion Chris, it could be mistaken for a timeless image; with the only real modern items being the TV aerials on the cottages at the right side.
