Ben Lomond at last light

I raced all the way to Rowardennan on Sunday night. Caught the last light on Ben Lomond however, the shot is a bit weighted on the right side and I wish there was something in the water on the left like a boat or something. Would have been all blurred right enough with the movement. Can't have it all lol

I did do a photoshop, flipping the rocks to the left side to balance out the composition but for the forum I've kept it the way it was.

Very nice foreground detail and equally nice light on the mountain but I do see what you mean about the need for something on the left as that is a big slab of nothing emphasised by the slow exposure removing any ripple details.

Go on, Photoshop Nessie in the space. All the images of 'her' are blurred and you can say she went south for her holidays

I've noticed that the sweet f/stop for the 5d and 24-105 for front to back sharpness is f/13, all depending of course where you focus :)

I don't like altering landscape shots now but for that one I thought I'd try it.

I prefer the flipped version but not true to form lol. Easy to do actually. Create new layer in PS. Flip the underlying layer, and then on the top layer create a new layer mask and with a black brush, brush away the top layer to reveal the bottom of the portion of the image you want to see.

To the right of the rocks in the original is a dock for boats. Just wasn't wide enough to cram it in.

Well if Paul can take liberties here's one of mine...

I wanted to see what Rowardennan looked like so 'went there' courtesy of the Google Streetview car but couldn't zoom out far enough to get a wide view so I snipped three images with the Snipping Tool, stitched them together with Panorama Plus and cropped in DPP.

A lovely spot indeed but, sadly, time meant I only saw the other side of the loch this year (in the rain). Hopefully 2015 will be different - I may even climb the rock!

lol that's awesome. My shot was taken over the wall on the right wide of the pier. It's such a lovely place. Also the start of the walk up Ben Lomond too. Parking all day for £3. Takes about a 6 hours, with a pub at the bottom :)

A lovely LE exposure.
That delicate evening light is captured so well with heaps of tonal range, colour, texture and detail in the image.
