Don't talk to me about rain - I live in Wales.

Very good shot, Alex. Excellent composition - can't fault it really.

Pretty much flawless! Isnt it a bit late to have not been harvested yet? - they want to get a move on! Another one for the website...!

        Beautifully exposed.
Considering the wind and rain we'vw had recently it's a miracle that the barley is still standing.

Isnt it a bit late to have not been harvested yet?
When I was a lad the harvest went on well past my birthday (Sep. 12th). I used to get time off school to help.

        Regards,

        Stuart

Rob, last year the straw drails were covered in frost.

Stuart, when I was young and stayed on a farm it was always great great weather for the harvest and had the best time of my life, something I'll never forget.

Really works for me, everything speaks of autumn, like the low sun just through the trees. Trees lead well to the distance.

Had you thought BW conversion, think that works as well.

Didn't think of that but might just give it a try.

I hope you'll forgive me for posting my images on your thread, but these may be of interest.

Before the harvest comes the sowing.
Sometime between the World Wars, my father leading the horses.

The early fifties. My father was very proud of his combine harvester as it was the first in the village. The small boy is me.

Shocking oats, during or shortly after WW2. In some parts of the country they were called stooks; in Cambridgeshire we called them shocks. My father on the left.

They must bring back memories for you Stuart. Fantastic shot of the old combine, never seen one like that before.

Not a problem with the images Stuart, good to see some history.

                    Best
