As you can probably all guess from recent posts I have a fascination with canals and have had since I was a boy. This shows the Iron Aqueduct on the GUC at Cosgrove, one of only three in the country I believe. Opened in 1811 to replace the previous brick built one which collapsed not long after construction. Its a testament to the skill and ingenuity of the Victorians that, 190 years later, its still carrying traffic, albeit nowadays just leisure craft, over the River Ouse below. Regards, Ian W.
