    High Speed Flash

My daughter and granddaughter share a birthday in June, and for the past few years we have enjoyed warm sunny weather - great for the BBQ but difficult to get good shots in the bright sunshine! This year I decided to get to grips with the high speed flash setting and was pretty impressed with the results!

Hi speed flash seems fairly scary, but once you get your first results, it all seems quite easy in hindsight.

Very nice set Peter. Good examples off how to use Hi-speed sync.

Very nice set, as the guys have said high speed sync is easy once you get past the fear factor and as you have demonstrated can give great results in harsh sun

What a great example of what HSS can do Peter! I hope that seeing those images spurs other users on to try it.

              Re: High Speed Flash

Thanks everyone, appreciate the comments. I did a reply yesterday but it didn’t post so sorry for the delay! I saw a Canon training post that said to leave the HSS on all the time, that way you would not lose a shot because of sync speed issues. The challenge is to try to get my head around the camera settings for background v the flash settings, whether I want to use the flash as fill or main lighting - there were some of both options used in the shots I posted. More experimentation and research required!
