Re: How to improve my flash phtotgraphy
I can't recommend any books, however I just search the internet and watch youtube videos. The main thing is practise and trying different positions for the flashes.1Dmk2, Canon 70-200 f4 L Non-IS & a borrowed canon 28mm

Re: How to improve my flash phtotgraphy
I'm glad I read this series of replies before I posted. I've just been given a second hand Speedlite 430EX and the manual and all the terminology confuses me so I'd like to read something that explains second curtain sync and all the other odd terms I don't understand.
Looks like the Syl Arena book is the one to help although has anyone used the "Canon Speedlite System Digital Field Guide" by M Corsentino?

Re: How to improve my flash phtotgraphy
I recommend that you buy the hardcopy and not the Kindle version. On the Kindle the pictures are somewhat dissociated from the text, and can't be zoomed. Also some of the text characters e.g. 1/1000 are an image which again can't be zoomed so my poor old eyes can't really read what it says.Russell

Re: How to improve my flash phtotgraphy
Sometime reading doesn't work for me and I have to "see" the how to.
This is what made it click for me.
