    Yarra River & Melbourne Skyline

The Yarra is claimed by Australians not living in Melbourne to be the only river that flows upside down as it is always brown and this is not from pollution.

Melbourne Skyline ... for a minute David I thought that was Holden's version of the Nissan Skyline ;-) Shows how my brain is wired

        Nice picture.

          Nice image David

It's a place I'd love to visit and my Sister-in-Law lives in Yarraville; where this image may have been taken from.

Nope, a friend of mine lives in Yarraville too and you definitely can't get this view from there - it's a few miles further out.

Hope you didn't get your eyebrows singed taking that, you're just down from the gas burners, I think?

Pictures good, although for me it's a shame to be missing the tops of the buildings and the church tower isn't as prominent as it could be. I'd suggest turning the lens about 10deg to the left and lifting the eyeline slightly so that the bridge is nearer the third, although I'm suspecting you've chosen the angle you did to avoid converging verticals? Colours are lovely though, very typical of the light quality from that part of the world. Brings back happy memories of a wonderful city.

              Thanks for the comments.
It was taken during an "afternoon walk" while waiting for my wife who was at a "shower tea" for my nephews wife to be. We were in Melbourne for the wedding which was the following day.
Only my second visit to Melbourne so not sure where Yarraville is. This was the walk along the Southbank and the bridge to the right crosses the Yarra near Flinders Street Station which is the large dome to the right of the large church spire.

Woolley you are right about the big gas burners which are outside the Casino singing the eyebrows but they are about 500 metres away to the left of where I was standing which was next to the white footbridge that crosses the Yarra.

MX-5 I chuckled at your comment about Holdens and the Nissan Skyline. While we were in Aus over Christmas/New Year Holden and Falcon were "knocked off" their top spots for the first time in about 20 years by Mazda with the Mazda 6
