    Images from Sri Lanka

Nothing spectacular. Taken with my EOS 3 400ASA 28mm-105mm lens.

images 1& 2 shows the Sigiriya Rock with pilgrims climbing up to the top. The 3rd image is of one of the frescos painted on the side of the rock and the 4th image is that of a stilt fisherman in Negambo, south Sri Lanka. Nothing speicial about these photos but perhaps it would members to travel to my "mother" country (though I had to flee the island due to the civil war)

Tommi- a bit naughty there Can be seen on the wall face of the Rock Fortress of Sri Lanka called SIGIRIYA. Commissioned by King Kasyapa, who killed his father the original king by having him "walled alive". He then escaped to this rock fortress as he was frightened of his brother Moggalan, who was raising an army to fight him and in the end the fight took place and Kasyapa was killed in battle.

      Well worth a visit.

Nice set Nat. I wasn't a member when you first posted these but as it happens we are Sri Lanka bound on 1st April this year for 2 weeks. Friends of ours from Brisbane days have been helping set up the Pharmacy School and decided it would be a good place to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary being half way between the UK (groom) and Australia (bride) so our trip is part vacation and part catching up with a number of friends from our days in Oz. We will be staying in Galle Fort, Yala NP, attempting Adam's Peak, a tea plantation near Ella and then a couple of days in Kandy before heading home. Hoping to catch decent images of all locations.
