Budapest - ace place!!

Enjoyed a short break in Budapest. Very attractive city with some excellent sights -

The Parliament building on the bank of the Danube (makes our Westminster look a bit second-rate) -



The Chain Bridge over the Danube, with Gresham Palace at the far end and St Sebastian Basilica beyond that -



The Chain Bridge from river level -




Frontage of the Gresham Palace (now a hotel - built to honour Gresham, the British economist) with his bust in a gilded niche -



The Palace was refurbished in Art Deco style - here's a window frame from an internal arcade -



And a few spires, towers from the St Matthias complex high over the river -



All 50D + 24-105L.

Great pics of your recent trip-dead jealous. I went there for a week in the winter many years ago, and I have to say it was the most fantastic place Ive been too. Would love to go again but the wifes not keen - ho hum!
