      A different angle but I am unsure it its a straight shot (too dark) or trying to be a silhouette (not dark enough). Always difficult shooting something very dark against a bright sky but i think by using shadows/highligh tool there is some more detail to be pulled from the horseman

          Thanks Nathaniel, I shot it at the angle - the plinth is actually parallel to the ground with the horse rearing.

          The plinth is 2500 tonnes of granite!

          Thanks Stan...not meant to be a silhouette but shot at an angle to the sun striking low from the left - exposed for the plinth detail which reads Peter the First from Catherine the Second. As you can image - plenty of shots with fully lit statue....but not what I wanted for this shot.
