    Gatehouse ....

    Its not easy to get a clear line of sight on these buildings - but I was pleased the way this came out helped by the clouds that just came along at the right time - I was thinking about cropping it to pull to gatehouse over to the right to meet rules of third - but I do like the tree leading in

    What do you think ?

    Hi Ian, A nice shot as is but I see what you mean about cropping the tree and I think it does create a stronger image. Why not post a cropped version as a comparison?

      Cheers Bill - I cropped the tree and it pulled the image into 3rds which I think works better

        I'd say this was a distinct improvement as now there is more emphasis on the towers.
        The turretted wall on the right now leads you nicely into the image.

            Hmmm, see I like the reds within the tree and the crop has lost that. If anything it would be the trees nudging into the shot on the left.
