    Old town Barcelona

    Night photo converted to sepia as I think it works with this subject and being a night shot

    I've seen several photgraphic efforts of this "bridge" near the cathedral, in guide books etc. Really like your sepia treatment and think it works well

        I do like this, but would consider a lighter touch with the vignette. The road leading you in is somewhat obscured by the heavy vignette you have applied.

        Perhaps a more selective darkening of the buildings either side would lead the eye in to the shot better?

          cheers for the feedback Mike ...

          I thought I had kept enough detail in the road to lead into the image so the lamp & bridge were the main points of the shot - interested to hear what others think

          but thanks anyway

            On my calibrated iMac, both left and right sides are 98% black. BUT - on Flickr the picture looks more like how I explained in my first reply!
            Another case of some slight degradation on posting here!

                the processing and effect look spot on, but for the people it could have been shot years ago

                    Like that Ian, especially the small area of sky at the top. Would usually suggest losing that but not in this instance

                      Great image with lots of atmosphere. My only thought is that I find the bit of sky slightly distracting and I think a possible crop to remove the sky and light bit of stone work wouldn't detract from the image.
