          I'm a bit late to the party and most of my thoughts have already been voiced so I'll just say well done Ian.
          Was it the bird with the skinny legs that caught your eye or just the overall scene [emoji2][emoji2]

              It's a lovely composition and I reckon you've held enough detail in the foreground corners - personally I don't understand the paranoia that seems to surround having very deep shadow, better that than HDR with no shadow where shadow should clearly be...

              One thing that puzzles me is the sky or at least what I assume to be the sky. Right at the top there is some that looks pretty natural for night/evening sky but further down what appears to be sky area is totally white. Is it sky? was it really like that or have you PP'd it that way to keep detail in the arch and delineate the far buildings. Overall the result just feels a bit odd...

                as for the oddness ;o).. in the sky, I'm not at my desk so can't look back over the process so will have to look tomorrow

                edited - I remembered Nigel - I used a radial filter so the dark sky is due to that
