    Cathedral at night

Still just about in the blue hour and thankfully this time they turned the lights on at the cathedral, maybe the pope was in town ;o)

This is a splendid shot- colours and reflections spot on

Could you please humour me and tone down that tiny red window on the left- it's like a magnet!

Saw this on my tablet and thought it was good but decided I'd take a look on my PC before commenting.

Great image, nice composition and exposure.

                    Re: Cathedral at night

cheers for the feedback Tom & Ant..

I was quite surprised it came out as I was hanging over a bridge to get all the reflection and 1/6 the IS on the 16-35 is excellent, but even then I thought it would show movement

Ignore me - I've just see you've answered it.

I'm off to the med next week and wondering how I can get a tripod in our 'shared suitcase' for the week.

I wanted to control the noise as much as I could so F4 as I knew DoF wasn't going to be an issue and 1000 iso - seemed to have worked

Where abouts you going to ? anywhere near me pop in for a bottle or three

Excellent Ian, although I don't know how you managed it hand held at 1/6 sec. You must be much younger (and steadier) then me.

I don't think this forum is about pass or fail. I post because I'd like feedback & ideas how I might improve a shot or to illustrate something that others might find interesting/useful.

It's nice to receive plaudits but that's never my motivation for posting.

                              .
I was standing on a stone bridge ( see the other shots of this cathedral I posted) and was able to bend over it "carefully" lol and steady my arms against the wall and hope ;o)

agree but its a tad disapointing when some of members on this site have no interest in offering feedback on anything that doesn't go into there niche - I know we all have our interests and likes, but I do think we can all appreciate or dislike a photo and so offer feedback. This does sound like I'm drifting into a railwreck of a thread Stan started last year and I'm not, just it would be nice if some members looked around a bit before posting and vanishing
